Event outline

Increasingly, librarians are taking a role in supporting student learning beyond traditional information literacy, working collaboratively with colleagues across their institutions to make sure students have the broad range of study skills they require to complete their programmes successfully.

This event is an opportunity to share experience and promote debate around the role of the library in supporting students’ wider academic skills.

We are also offering an optional tour of the University’s library at MediaCityUK, with transport to Salford Quays. Delegates are to make their own way back, via excellent public transport links back into Manchester.

For additional information please contact Roy Vickers at R.Vickers@salford.ac.uk

  • 'Wider academic skills: the University of Cumbria journey': James Fraser, Cumbria University
  • 'A flexible approach to academic skills provision through the Edge Hill University Library Ask desk': Zoe Clarke and Mike Stores, Edge Hill University
